British-born artist Matthew Watts emigrated to Australia in 200i, and now lives and works in Melbourne’s inner-north.
Matthew has had group and solo shows in the UK, America and Australia. His work is held by Artbank Australia and in numerous private collections worldwide.
Matthew considers himself essentially a painter ‘of places and things’. His subject matter reflects the temporal aspects of everyday life he sees around him but which is common to us all; our surroundings, the things we surround ourselves with and the often quotidian nature of our existence. He engages and responds to these things through drawing and painting.
